S. Fernando Mastroianni

Owner

Fernando started in the Wall Decor / Picture Framing Industry in 1990 as a regional sales representative in New York City for Larson Juhl. He was later recruited by Crescent Cardboard Company, the premiere matboard manufacturer in Wheeling, IL for International Sales expansion. He also worked for Roma Moulding and Universal Arquati. In 2006 he started his own company, CPF Service, as a wholesaler in West Lakeview. In 2009 the business was moved to Ravenswood and renamed Blackbird Gallery and Framing. Blackbird is the premiere frame company in the Lincoln Square / Ravenswood community. Its loyal customers come from all over Chicagoland and the suburbs.

Michael

Framing Expert

Michael is a native Chicagoan with an art background and knowledge of the local art scene. This translates into attention to detail and true passion for all of the artwork that he frames. His designs are classic and his workmanship impeccable. His Photo Restoration business is equally customer oriented.

Doug

Design Team, Birkenheuer Photography

Blackbird is proud to have Doug, of Birkenheuer Photography as part of the design team since 2012. As a figurative photographer since 1988, his passion for custom framing evolved along with masterful portraits. He brings his keen sense of design, balance and proportion with attention to detail when consulting with customers.

Ron

Photographer & Educator

Ron comes to Blackbird as a passionate photographer and educator of the craft. He is able to marry both his photograpy and design passions with a self taught technical background. Ron is launching Blackbirds' social media platform. We welcome him as a consultant and look forward to his ideas for a more engaging social media experience for our clients.
